was born in 1845 in the township where he now lives—Eel River. He was a soldier in the 132nd Regiment Indiana Volunteers. He is a farmer by occupation and has never held an elective office, having, however, served as trustee of his own township two years by appointment. He is an active Republican in a township which is a continual political battle field.
