is a native of Liberty township where he was born August 12th, 1834. He has always lived on the farm where he now resides with the exception of eight years when he lived in Guilford township. He was a Union soldier in the 54th Regiment Indiana volunteers and has ever been a Republican worker having cast his first vote for Fremont.
