from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of March 24, 1892

Republican candidates for county office:

W.B. WILSON

was born in Jennings county, Indiana, in 1839 where he lived until he enlisted in the 19th regiment Indiana volunteers in July 1861. With that regiment he served three and one-half years and was in its fiercest fights. He was wounded three times—at Antietam, Gettysburg and Petersburg—and, today, carries a rebel ball in his chest. Returning home in 1865, he was elected sheriff of his county two terms. In 1881, he came to this county, settling in Washington township. In 1885 he moved to Union township where he has since lived. Captain Wilson, as he is frequently called, has the highest esteem of his neighbors. That he is a good Republican goes without the saying.
