Divorce Notice for Irvin G. Arnold and Berniece Arnold

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, January 29, 1920—page 1, column 1:

HUSBAND ASKS DIVORCE

Alleging among other charges that his wife, Berniece, had assaulted him with a butcher knife, Irvin G. Arnold asks for a divorce. They were married June 18, 1919 and separated Jan. 21, 1920. Plaintiff alleges that she also refused to do such work about the house as she was able to do, showed a total lack of interest in her home affairs, that she repeatedly called him a liar, that she has an ungovernable temper and is continually nagging him, that she has repeatedly told plaintiff that she cared nothing for him, that she on one occasion struck and scratched him, that plaintiff is a farmer and defendant dislikes the farm and refuses to continue to live on it and has repeatedly told plaintiff she would not continue to live on the farm, that she leaves home without telling where she is going and that she often conceals by mis-statements the truth as to her destination.
