Divorce Notice for Lewis Barker and Harriet F. Barker

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, March 11, 1920—page 1, column 6:

IN DIVORCE COURT AFTER HALF CENTURY

After over fifty years of married life, Harriet F. Barker wants a divorce from Lewis Barker, $1000 alimony and an order restraining her husband from entering upon her farm or molesting plaintiff or disposing of household goods. She alleges cruel treatment in word and deed, that defendant is lazy and failed to provide, that at the time of their separation in 1918, they were living on plaintiff's farm, that their son, Charles, and wife were living with them, that Charles' wife was abusive toward plaintiff and that because of the treatment by defendant, by her son and his wife, plaintiff was compelled to seek shelter at the home of her daughter, that she desires to return to her farm but is afraid of bodily injury, that she fears defendant will destroy or remove certain household goods. Parties were married in 1868. Plaintiff is 77 years old.
