Divorce Notice for John S. Cloncs and Cora A. (McDonald) Cloncs

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, May 4, 1922—page 1, column 5:

SOME ALLEGATIONS MADE IN THIS DIVORCE SUIT

Cora A. Cloncs asks for a divorce from John S. Cloncs, $1,000 alimony, and that her maiden name, Cora A. McDonald, be restored. They were married June 30, 1920, and she claims that he abandoned her Sept. 19, 1921. She alleges cruel and inhuman treatment and failure to provide.

She is a member of the Daughters of Rebekah at Barnard, and she alleges that he objected to her attending its meetings, saying that no decent woman would be caught there. She was also a delegate to the Grand Lodge at Indianapolis and she alleges that defendant refused her permission to go and told her if she were a decent woman she would not want to go.

She alleges that when she expected a baby, he refused to make provision for the expected child or for her and compelled her to go to her friends and relatives and abandoned her, and never contributed to her comfort, consolation, care and provision in any way.
