Divorce Notice for Earl Ferree and Jessie Ferree

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, November 30, 1922—page 1, column 3:

DR. FERREE PLAINTIFF IN SUIT FOR DIVORCE

Earl Ferree, in his suit for divorce from Jessie Ferree, alleges cruel and inhuman treatment in that defendant has a high and ungovernable temper and becomes enraged at what plaintiff says or does; that she uses bitter and harsh words in speaking to and about plaintiff; that on several occasions she slapped plaintiff and once she became so enraged that she tore plaintiff's shirt almost off his body; that she objects to plaintiff's management and control of the children and tells them not to mind what plaintiff tells them, and that she belittles the plaintiff in their presence; that she objects to plaintiff attending fraternal lodges; that she has refused to get his meals and has told him to go to the restaurant; that she nags at plaintiff and gives him no encouragement to advance himself in his profession, that of a veterinarian.

Plaintiff asks the custody, for at least part of the time, of their two daughters, aged 17 and 5. Parties were married Dec. 28, 1904, and separated Oct. 15, 1922.
