Divorce Notice for Earl Ferree and Jessie Ferree

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, August 30, 1923—page 1, column 3:

FERREES ARE IN COURT EACH FILING ONE SUIT

Dr. Earl Ferree and wife are again in court. Mrs. Ferree was first at bat with a suit for support. Then Dr. Ferree filed suit for divorce.

Mrs. Ferree asks for $100 per month for her support and the support of their two children and for a receiver to take charge of her husband's property. They were married December 28, 1904 and separated October 23, 1922. She alleges he went to live in Brownsburg and she and the two children lived on the farm until he caused a portion of their property to be removed from the farm and she and the children were compelled to live at her father's home. She alleges her husband owns a large amount of real estate and personal property and makes from $6,000 to $10,000 annually.

In his suit for divorce, Dr. Ferree alleges cruel and inhuman treatment. He claims that Mrs. Ferree is very jealous of him and that when out on business, she thought he was out in bad company, that she was unable to control her temper, that she nagged him, that she resented his treatment of the children and sought to humiliate him in their presence. Dr. Ferree wants the custody of the children at least a part of the time and that he have them during the school months so he may educate them.

The parties were in court some months ago but failed to secure a divorce.
