Galbreath vs. Irwin [sic]

This case occupied the first of the week and attracted much attention and caused considerable amusement to jury, court and spectators. Perhaps more law was cited and more exceptions taken than in any other trial of no greater length. James Galbreath is the divorced husband of Susie Irwin who is the daughter of Sarah Irwin, the defendant. James and Susie were married two years ago and love's dream lasted less than a month when they separated. A divorce followed and then Galbreath sued his mother-in-law for $5,000 damages alleging that she alienated his wife's affections. The jury was out a short time and found for the defendant.
