Divorce Notice for John W. Hall and Annie L. Hall

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, December 10, 1914—page 1, column 3:

DIVORCE SUITS
Two Unhappy Mothers Seek Relief Through Law

Annie L. Hall wants a divorce from John W. Hall. They were married Dec. 10, 1885 and separated in November, 1914. Four of their eight children are minors. Plaintiff alleges that during all of their married life she has had to do all kinds of drudgery for her own family and for neighbors; that for more than four years, defendant has not made suitable provisions for the family; that he has been in the habit of working during the summer and leaving with his earnings and staying away until all were spent and then return home and compel plaintiff to support him by her labor; that he would frequently leave the family destitute and go away and spend his money in riotous living and when asked for money by plaintiff would curse her. Wherefore she wants a divorce, the custody of their minor children and an order of court that he assist in their support.
