PLAINTIFF WIFE FILES LONG SERIES OF CHARGES

Married May 14, 1921, and separated May 5, 1923, is the record of the wedded life of Lelland Hodge and Dorothy Hodge according to her suit for divorce. She alleges that he is guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment in that he frequently became angry and would call her vile names, would not allow her to associate with her friends, made slurring remarks about her family, and frequently refused to associate with the child of plaintiff and defendant; that he ordered her from their home; that for much of the time he failed and refused to furnish her [with] a home but they lived with her people and his people; that when her child was born her mother came to stay with her and defendant ordered the mother away; that defendant is now charged with child desertion; that on Dec. 25, 1923, their child was in an Indianapolis hospital with a walnut kernel in his throat and doctors said an operation was necessary; that the defendant was present and though called on to assist in the payment of the hospital bill or to stand good for the same that the child might be operated on and its life saved, the defendant refused. Two days later the child died. Plaintiff wants $500 alimony.
