Divorce Notice for Herbert Johns and Grace Johns

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, April 12, 1928—page 1, column 1:

Many Allegations Made By Husband for Divorce

Herbert Johns asks for a divorce from Grace Johns. They were married January 10, 1918, and separated March 30, 1928. Plaintiff asks for the custody of their three children. The complaint alleges cruel and inhuman treatment in that defendant would be out at night without her husband or children, that she spoke of being out with other men, that she corresponded with other men, that she told plaintiff it was none of his business where she had been or with whom, that she frequently called plaintiff by vile names, and used improper language before the children and abused them, that she told plaintiff she would kill him and the children and set fire to the house, that she could easily cut plaintiff's throat from ear to ear. Plaintiff alleges that this condition of living rendered him ill and he was compelled to have his brother come to their house and stay.
