Divorce Notice for Phillip Jones and Marie Jones

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, June 8, 1922—page 1, column 5:

ANOTHER COUPLE LANDS IN LOCAL DIVORCE COURT

Marie Jones wants a divorce from Phillip Jones, the custody of their child, $2,000 alimony, and $10 per week for the support of the child. They were married July 12, 1917, and separated May 24, 1922. Plaintiff alleges cruel and inhuman treatment in that defendant is a chronic grumbler, that he stayed away at night, that he did not provide, that he required her to keep roomers to support herself and then he would take the money she received from the roomers, that he left her when she was ill without any attendant, that he mortgaged their household goods, that he failed to pay the rent and was ejected from the house and made no effort to get a place to live and since then she has been compelled to depend upon relatives for support.
