Divorce Notice for Carl C. Keller and Marjorie E. Keller

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, June 19, 1924—page 1, column 3:

TWO UNHAPPY WIVES SEEK DIVORCE RELIEF

[…] Mrs. Marjorie E. Keller asks a divorce from Carl C. Keller on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. One of her chief complaints is that defendant gave cigarettes to their two-year-old son and taught him and permitted him to use them, and that he taught the son indecent language; that he made no effort to enable the little boy to attend Sunday school.

She alleges that on the tenth of May, under the pretense of taking her and the children for a visit with her parents in Morgan county, he took them there and left them, and refused to come after them or to return to their home. She says that he had often told her that she ought to go back home where she belonged, and asked her to “pack your duds and go.”

She says that he often falsely accused her of infidelity. She alleges that her husband had his veterinary office in a room of their home, and that he often had strange men come there. She says that he would then leave, so that he could accuse her of being with others. She says that he has an ungovernable temper, and often mistreated her, and had no respect for her wishes.

Wherefore she asks that the bonds of matrimony be dissolved, and that she be given $5,000 alimony and $50 per week for support and for the education of her children.
