from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, December 20, 1906—page 1, column 3:

Damages Wanted

Nora Mahan is the plaintiff in two suits filed in the circuit court. One is against Earl Mahan, her husband, asking for divorce, $2,500 alimony and the restoration of her maiden name, Nora Holley. The other suit is against Luther Mahan and wife asking for $5,000 damages for alleged alienation of her husband's affections, the defendants being the parents of her husband. They are well known citizens of northwestern Hendricks. She alleges that she and Earl Mahan were married June 18, 1904, and separated July 26, 1906, that she and her husband lived in Indianapolis and that his parents induced him to leave her and go to their home in this county, that she followed him and lived at their home, that they attempted to induce him to take her to her mother and leave her there, that she was called names and abused until she did leave and return to her mother.
