from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, September 25, 1919—page 1, column 2:

ALLEGES CRUEL TREATMENT

In her complaint for divorce from Zephyr E. Masten, Osie F. Masten alleges cruel and inhuman treatment in that he often cursed her, called her vile names, told her he cared nothing for her, that he was going to leave her, that he would be gone night after night until near morning and would refuse to tell plaintiff where he had been and would curse her for asking where he had been. Defendant left plaintiff about June 20, 1919 and she has had no word from him. Plaintiff wants the custody of their two children, $10 per week for their support and $2,000 alimony. They were married at Paris, Ill., Aug. 11, 1910.
