from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, May 6, 1909—page 8, column 2:

Suits Filed

Alice Moon vs. Verna E. Moon. Plaintiff alleges they were married June 16, 1908, and separated August 27, 1908. When they married, defendant took her to the home of his parents until he could arrange a home. Plaintiff alleges that while she lived there her life was miserable by reason of the conduct of his parents, that finally defendant told her he had changed his mind and that he did not intend to leave his parents' home and that they could not live there together, and as plaintiff's parents were dead, he took her to the home of Calvin Stout and left her; that she has entreated defendant to provide a home which he refuses to do; that he is now going with other women. Plaintiff wants a divorce, $1,000 alimony and her maiden name, Alice Hiatt.
