Divorce Notice for Jonathan O'Dell and Kate (Wright) O'Dell

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, May 4, 1899—page 1, column 5:

Want Marriage Annulled

Jonathan O'Dell, by Henry S. Ragan, guardian, has filed suit against Kate O'Dell, asking that their marriage be annulled. In 1878, plaintiff was adjudged to be of unsound mind and is now a person of unsound mind. It is alleged that in September, 1893, the defendant, Kate Wright, knowing the plaintiff to be of unsound mind, incapable of making a contract without the knowledge or authority of his guardian, Michael Higgins, induced the plaintiff to marry her. Since she has claimed to be the lawful wife of Jonathan O'Dell and entitled to support out of his estate. Wherefore it is asked that the marriage be annulled.
