Divorce Notice for William Ray Ottinger and Marguerite Ottinger

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, April 30, 1914—page 1, column 3:

DAMAGES WANTED

Wife Alleges Husband's Parents Separated Her From Husband

Marguerite Ottinger has filed suit against Miles Ottinger and Nora Ottinger, of Brownsburg, asking $4,000 damages for alleged alienation of the affections of her husband, William Ray Ottinger. This suit is an echo of the divorce suit recently filed by William Ray Ottinger against Marguerite Ottinger. This suit could not be pressed to conclusion on the days set because it was found that the defendant who was believed to be a non-resident had not been served with notice by publication the number of days the law requires.

The defendant's wife in the divorce case now has sued her husband's parents for damages. She alleges she and William Ray Ottinger were married in August, 1913, in Louisville and that they separated October 20, 1913, that the defendant[s] alienated the affections of her husband and enticed him from her and persuaded him to abandon her and have since harbored him.
