Divorce Notice for Ora Porter and Lelah (Soper) Porter

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, November 12, 1914—page 4, columns 5-6:

PORTER VS. PORTER

Lelah Porter asks for a divorce from Ora Porter. They were married July 9, 1908 and separated Nov. 3, 1914. Plaintiff alleges that defendant is guilty of infidelity; that on Nov. 3 and at divers [sic] times prior defendant was guilty of cruel treatment in that he told her he was living with another woman in Indianapolis and that when she remonstrated with him, he told her to look out for herself and go where she wanted to; that such statements worried her and aggravated her weak and enfeebled condition and defendant made them to abuse and annoy her. Plaintiff wants a divorce, $5,000 alimony and that her maiden name, Lelah Soper, be restored. The defendant is restrained from removing any money he now has in the State bank or from disposing of his personal property.
