WIVES ARE DEFENDANTS IN THESE DIVORCE SUITS

[…] Ernest Otis Ridgeway, of Danville, files suit for a divorce from Eva S. Ridgeway. They were married Jan. 21, 1918 and separated June 30, 1921. Plaintiff alleges cruel and inhuman treatment in that defendant was abusive and extremely vituperative in language and conversation she had with plaintiff and frequently called plaintiff by various epithets that were most unkind and cutting to him and that she made their home life unpleasant and unbearable by the use of such language, that she was almost constantly nagging plaintiff and at times was very quarrelsome and fretful with plaintiff, that she did not properly prepare and cook his meals, that she was constantly complaining that he did not furnish her with sufficient money, that she frequently told him that she was not going to live with him any longer, that she would make unkind and slighting remarks about plaintiff's business, that of clerk in a jewelry store, that she frequently made unkind derogatory remarks about plaintiff's mother and sister, that when she left on June 30, she said she never intended to live with plaintiff again.
