from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)—issue of Thursday, October 16, 1913—page 1, column 2:

RUMLEY VS. RUMLEY

Katie Rumley asks for a divorce from Auburn Rumley with the custody of their child, judgment for alimony, a decree that her husband be required to provide for the support of the child and that her maiden name, Katie Ratliff, be restored. They were married Aug. 30, 1909 and separated Oct. 3, 1913. Plaintiff alleges cruel and inhuman treatment in that defendant used offensive words to and in her presence and in the presence of others; that he has failed to provide clothes; refused to furnish her money; refused to allow her to visit relatives and friends and should she do so without his knowledge, he became very angry and heaped abuse upon her; that he has manifested almost constant aversion to their son, now 20 months old and has punished him with undue severity when there was no occasion for the punishment; that he has ceased to love or care for plaintiff and that he at all times and places seems to take delight in making her unhappy; that life with him became intolerable.
