Divorce Notice for Merrill Sheckles and Gladys Sheckles

THREE DIVORCE SUITS APPEAR IN ONE BUNCH

Two Husbands and One Wife Seek Legal Separation

[…] Merrill Sheckles and Gladys Sheckles had a married life of less than a week. They were wed July 26, 1917 and separated Aug. 1, 1917. He alleges that she was unfaithful to him and confessed that she was; that she was cruel and inhuman in that she was continually associating with other men and that on one occasion when she was guilty of irregular conduct and he remonstrated with her, she cursed him. He closes his complaint with the statement that when he left her, she told him to go to hell and when she wanted him, she would send the police after him.

ANOTHER CHAPTER

Marion [sic] Sheckles, whose married life has been checkered, is under arrest in Indianapolis, charged with wife desertion. He was arrested in this county and was in Sheriff Hufford's charge until turned over to the Marion county authorities. Sheckles has a divorce suit pending against his wife. They were married in August.
