Obituary for Frances (Lowder) Garner

from unknown newspaper--issue of February 1905

Frances Lowder was born in North Carolina, August 27, 1831. She was married to Harrison B. Garner, December 12, 1850. To this union was born nine children--five sons and four daughters. Two of the children and the husband preceded her to the heavenly home.

Sister Garner professed faith in Christ and united with the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church at about 30 years of age. She lived a true Christian life untin her death which occurred February 1, 1905, aged 73 years, 5 months and 4 days.

She was a kind and good neighbor, an affectionate wife, a loving mother and a dovoted Christian. During her last sickness which was long and severe, her entire trust was in her blessed Savior, who many years ago had called her out of darkness into his marvelous light.

She leaves to mourn her departure seven children, and a number of grandchildren and many neighbors and friends, but no one will miss her more than her daughter, Wildie, who lived with her mother and administered to her wants till the last. It can be truly said that the children were all good to their father and mother and followed them with loving hearts and willing hands to the very brink of the river of death.

God grant that this dear family may all meet in the sweet bye-and-bye, where they will never more say "Good Bye".
