Newell M. Gentry, 79, lifelong Brownsburg resident, died Monday, August 12 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
The son of Loren and Ella West Gentry, he was born August 15, 1905 at Brownsburg.
Mr. Gentry had been a carpenter for 40 years, retiring in 1967. He was formerly employed at Link Belt and National Malable Steel and Casting Co., Indianapolis. He was a member of Brownsburg Masonic Lodge, Brownsburg Order of Eastern Star, Indianapolis Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.
Services were Wednesday, August 14 in Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with Rev. Dennis Dodson officiating. Burial was in Brownsburg Cemetery, Inc. A Masonic service was held Tuesday evening.
Surviving are wife, Grace; son, Frank Gentry, Danville; daughter, Marilyn Blair, Winter Haven, FL.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
