from the Crawfordsville Journal, issue of November 19, 1915

Danville, Ind. - The funeral of John V. Hadley, who died here Wednesday night will take place Saturday afternoon at half past 2 in charge of Dr. Horace G. Ogden of Rochester, NY; the Rev. Charles O. Lee of this city and the Masonic Order from the Christian Church.  Thomas J. Cofer president of the local Bar Association has called a meeting of that body for Saturday morning at 9 to adopt suitable resolutions and arrange to attend the funeral in a body.  Attorneys in adjoining counties have been invited to attend and the bar of Marion County will be represented by a committee.  Judge Hadley presided at the famous Henshaw [sic] murder trial held here in 1895. He was a noted jurist and was known all over Indiana.
