from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, March 26, 1903—page 1, column 6:

Death of Mrs. Hall

Mrs. John M. Hall died at her home on the Cartersburg road Sunday morning at eight o'clock. Four weeks before, she fell on the ice in her yard and sustained injuries that were the immediate cause of her death. Mrs. [Mary Ann] Hall was the daughter of Christopher and Sarah Furnas and was born Dec. 3, 1825. Her age was 77 years, three months and nineteen days. She and Mr. Hall were married Oct. 9, 1851. To them five children were born, three of whom, Misses Nellie and Clara and Mrs. Jennie Jackson, of Rainstown, with the husband, survive. The deceased was a member of the M.E. church, having united with that denomination in 1856. Services were held at the house Tuesday morning and were conducted by Rev. George Switzer, of West Lafayette, and Rev. E.D. Smith. Interment was in the South cemetery.
