Obituary for Minerva Johnson

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, August 28, 1902—page 1, column 6:

Burned to Death

Mrs. Minerva Johnson, of Stilesville, received burns, Monday, that resulted fatally. She had been sick for some months and, being quite aged, was very feeble. She was left alone in the house and while trying to fix the fire, her clothing was ignited. She was unable to help herself and the fire gained such a headway that the chair on which she was seated was blazing when she was found. She did not survive long after the flames were extinguished.
