Obituary for Bernice (Farabee) Kevekordes

from The Republican (Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, June 10, 1901--page 1, column 5:

A SAD DEATH
Mrs. Bernice Kevekordes Passes to Her Long Home

The community was shocked Friday afternoon to learn of the death at Evansville of Mrs. Bernice Kevekordes, daughter of Dr. C.E. Farabee. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kevekordes a week prior and two days later she became ill of fever. She was given every attention and seemed to be improving until Wednesday night, when her condition became suddenly worse and she sank rapidly until her death. She was conscious until a few hours before and realizing that the end was near, she bade a loving farewell to relatives at her bedside. The immediate family was present except her sister, Miss Nell Farabee, who could not arrive in time. The funeral was Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Kevekordes was born in Danville, July 14, 1878, and July 27, 1897 was married to Theodore Kevekordes. She went to Evansville to make her home. Two children were born to them, Margaret, aged two years and the infant daughter, Nellie.

Mrs. Kevekordes was one of the most beautiful girls of our city and her sweet disposition was in keeping with her beauty. All knew her to love her. She was a faithful Christian, a devoted wife and mother and the community deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.

Dr. and Mrs. Farabee returned yesterday with the baby. Mr. Kevekordes's parents will keep the other child.
