James H. Neaville, the son of William and Elizabeth Neaville, was born in this county, Sept. 5, 1842, where he has lived continuously. He was married to Sarah J. Pefley, Aug. 2, 1861. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. He was taken with paralysis April 17, 1901, from which he never fully recovered; being a constant sufferer all the time. He died Dec. 19, 1902, age 60 years, 3 months and 14 days. He leaves a widow, four children, four sisters and one brother, with many friends to mourn his loss. He never made a public profession of christianity [sic], but was blessed with the sweet evidence of the pardon of sins through Christ, and rejoiced in a hope of salvation a few weeks before his death.
Funeral services were conducted by Eld. E.W. Thomas at the Christian church at Mont Clair, after which his remains were laid to rest to await the coming of the Lord.
