Obituary for Charles E. Oliver

The body of Charles E. Oliver, age 82, was interred in the Sparks Cemetery, Saturday, following services from the Gregory Funeral Home, Pittsboro. The Rev. James Shockley of Danville officiated. He died, April 4, at the National Nursing Home in Danville where he had been a patient for over four years.

A native of LeRoy, Ill., he was born, Dec. 13, 1890, the son of LeRoy and Ellen Frye Oliver. In June 1913, he was married to the former Beulah Waters in their own home in Pittsboro. She preceded him.

He was a 50-year-member of the Pittsboro Masonic Lodge, receiving his award pin two years ago. He was a retired telegraph operator and employed several years with the former Kingan Packing Company in Indianapolis.

Survivors include a son, John L. Oliver of Pittsboro. Two sisters, Miss Pearl and Miss Maude Oliver also preceded him.
