Passing of Former Citizen and Official of Hendricks County

William Patterson, former recorder of Hendricks county, died at his home in Indianapolis, Friday, aged 75, after an illness of more than a year. He was a native of Virginia and at the age of 21 moved to Hendricks county. Here he lived until some ten years ago when he spent two years in Oregon and the remainder of the time in Indianapolis.

In 1868 he was elected recorder of Hendricks county and after retiring from office was in the abstract business in Danville for some years. A widow and six children—Otis and Orin, of Canyon City, Oregon; Alva W., of Washington, D.C.; Dr. Carl Patterson, of Baker City, Oregon; Mrs. James Darnell and Miss Helena Patterson, survive. After services at his late home Monday morning interment was had at White Lick.
