Albert A. Phillips Passes away, Rites Friday Afternoon

Funeral services were held at the Harvey Funeral Home in Mooresville last Friday afternoon for Albert A. Phillips who passed away suddenly on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Richard Lancaster, minister of the Plainfield Methodist church, had charge of the service with the West Newton Masonic Lodge, No. 707, conducting graveside services at the Maple Hill cemetery in Plainfield. Mr. Phillips, who was 89 years old, was born near Brownsburg, the son of Amos and Martha Keeney Phillips. On March 20, 1892 he was married to Mary Alice Turley who survives. He had been in ill health for the past six years. He was a farmer and resided on RR #1 Plainfield. Mr Phillips was member of the West Newton Methodist church and West Newton Masonic Lodge. Survivors, besides the widow, are a son, Everett Phillips of RR# 1 Plainfield, and a daughter, Miss Estelle Phillips, Linton, Indiana; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Rose DeLong and Mrs. Della Berns of Brownsburg, Mrs. Nora Westerfield of Indianapolis and a number of nieces and nephews.

CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Phillips who live on Sugar Grove Road, Plainfield, celebrated the 60th wedding anniversary in their home on Thursday, March 20, with their family. Ice cream and cake were served. They received many beautiful bouquets and cards. They have a son, Everett Phillips, Plainfield; a daughter , Miss Estelle Phillips, a teacher at Linton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
