BROWNSBURG
Lawrence B. Phillips died Aug. 8 at his Brownsburg home. He was 73 and a life-long resident of Brownsburg.
Born June 26, 1928, in Brownsburg, he was a son of Chester and Harriet (Ferguson) Phillips. He married Joan Phillips of Brownsburg, who survives. Mr. Phillips was a masonry contractor and owned Phillips Masonry for 40 years before retiring in 1991. He had been a member of Faith Congregational Church in Brownsburg and the Brownsburg Masonic Lodge. He was the Brownsburg Little League Coach from 1955-1975.
Additional survivors include sons Denny Phillips of West Newton and DeWayne and Randy Phillips both of Brownsburg, and Lawrence Ray Phillips of Indianapolis; a daughter, Roxanna Williams of Brownsburg; a brother, Meredith Phillips of Brownsburg; a sister Rowena Henderson of Brownsburg; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 11 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg with the Rev. Dennis Dodson officiating. Interment followed at Brownsburg Cemetery.
