Mary Lucia Phillips, daughter of Henry H. and Lena Phillips was born in Hendricks County, near Coatesville, Feb. 6th 1895, and since that time about half of her life was spent in that vicinity. She was recently taken into the Christian church at Coatesville. She graduated from the Coatesville public school last spring, and bright-predictions had been made concerning her future education.
Her sickness was of short duration. She passed quietly away Thursday morning, Aug. 19, 1909, at the age of 14 years 6 months and 13 days. Her death was a great shock to everyone. She was ever a dutiful daughter to her parents, and a kind sister to her brothers.
Mary, the only daughter leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother and three brothers, besides several relatives and a host of friends.
