Obituary for Thomas Phillips

from The Republican (Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana)--issue of December 20, 1973:

The body of Thomas Phillips, age 58, was interred in the Brownsburg Cemetery, Inc., Friday afternoon, following services from the Weaver Memorial Home, there. Elder Shermon Essex, of the Pittsboro Baptist Church, officiated. He died, December 12, in the Hendricks County Hospital.

A resident of 424 Rodney Street, Brownsburg, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Lincoln American Legion Post 331, Brownsburg. A retired welder, he was a member of the U.A.W. Local No. 933.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Markland and Loretta Phillips, both of Indianapolis. A sister, Lucy Duffy, West Terre Haute; and two brothers, Russell Phillips and Ben Phillips, also West Terre Haute; and three grandchildren.
