Obituary for Reuben Prebster

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, March 30, 1905—page 1, column 5:

Reuben Prebster Dead

Reuben Prebster, bachelor, of Lincoln township, died Friday. He was born in Ohio in 1819, and had lived in Hendricks county since 1834. He was a brother of the late Christian Prebster. Reuben Prebster was one of the wealthiest men in the county, his estate being estimated at from $75,000 to $100,000. His will gives to Emanuel Prebster and wife $1,000, and the balance of his estate is given to James W. Ruse in consideration that Ruse move into Prebster's dwelling and take care of Reuben and Christian Prebster as long as they live. M. Tyra Hunter is named as executor of the will, it being dated March 10, 1893. It was witnessed by Mr. Hunter and by Joseph M. Tolle. In a codicil dated Feb. 23, 1905, Cleo L. Hunt is named as executor instead of Hunter. Thomas J. Smith and Eliza Henson are witnesses to the codicil. Eliza Henderson, Anderson Prebster and Everson Prebster, children of a brother of the deceased, have filed suit in contest of the will, alleging that he was not of sound mind at the time of the execution of the will and that it was unduly executed.
