Obituary for George W. Reichard

GEORGE W. REICHARD
Passing of Well Known Citizen of Danville

George W. Reichard, for many years a prominent citizen of Danville, died Monday night from a complication of diseases. The funeral is this afternoon from his late home, the services being in charge of Dr. Danley and Knights of Pythias.

He was born May 8, 1845, at Miamisburg, Ohio, and was baptized in infancy in the Lutheran church. January 2, 1868, he and Miss Emma Peden were married at Edinburg [sic], Indiana, and she with a son, Frank P. Reichard, survives. After their marriage they lived in Illinois. Returning to Indiana, they lived in Fortville, McCordsville, Clayton and Indianapolis, coming to Danville in August, 1880.

For many years he was in the drug business but for the last few years he has been in the furnishing business. Mr. Reichard was a progressive, liberal citizen, honest in all his dealings and most highly esteemed.
