Ralph Wilson Shaw

Ralph Wilson Shaw, former Danville resident, died Tuesday morning at his home in Hammond, La., following an extended illness.

He was born near Danville Sept. 16, 1900, the son of Wilson J. and the late Ettie Shirley Shaw. In December 1930 he was married to Gladys Pearson of Danville.

He received his education in the Danville Schools, was graduated with a B.S. degree from the former Central Normal College and received a master's degree from Louisiana State University. He was employed as a State Director of Adult Education in Louisiana where he had made his home for the past 25 years.

Survivors include the widow, his father and sister, Ina Shaw, both of Danville; two sons, Ralph Jr., a student at Southeastern Louisiana College, and Robert, a student at the Louisiana State University; two brothers, Enver Shaw, of Danville, and Philip, of Phoeniz, Ariz.

Services were conducted in Hammond, La., Wednesday afternoon with burial in the Green Lawn Cemetery, there.
