The body of Mary Etta Shirley, age 70, was interred in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Sunday afternoon, following services from the Gregory Funeral Home in Pittsboro. The Rev. Ben H. Strasser officiated for the rites. She died, Thursday evening in the Methodist Hospital following an illness of several weeks.
A native of Hendricks County, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Alwilda Dillon and had lived the greater part of her lifetime in the Pittsboro community. She was a member of the Christian Church and the Pittsboro Study Club.
Survivors include the husband Carl Shirley; three children, Ivan Shirley, Indianapolis; Mary Scott and Vivian Klinger, both of Pittsboro; a brother, Morris Dillon, Lebanon; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
