MARION SMOOT DIES AT HIS HOME IN MOORESVILLE
Last Run - Marion Smoot Dies
Mr. Marion Smoot, age 48, of R.R. 1, Mooresville, passed away last Friday in his home. He was born near Cumberland in Marion County but had lived at Mooresville the past 7 years. As a youth, he attended the Hazelwood and Clayton schools; was a veteran of World War II; was a member of the Zook Scott American Legion at Mooresville and was a member of the Hazelwood Baptist church. He had worked at Link Belt the last 5 years and prior to that Mr. Smoot drove a bus on Indiana 67 between Indianapolis, Martinsville and Vincennes.
The funeral service was held last Sunday at Flanner-Buchanan, Hall with burial at Clayton. Rev Hartsel Wilhite conducted the service.
Survivors are his wife, Flora, his father, Charles Smoot and step-mother Cora, of Hazelwood. His mother, Cora Hubbard Smoot passed away in 1938. Other survivors are a brother, Glenn E. of Mooresville; a step-son, Lee Medlin of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a nephew, Lanny Smoot and three grandchildren.
