Obituary for Warren Tharp

from The Republican (Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana)--issue of September 12, 1912--page 8, columns 2-3

It is seldom that the local press is called upon to record the deaths of two as well-known and prominent citizens of the county in the same week as that of William H. Rutledge and Warren Tharp, farmers living north of Danville, who died within 24 hours of each other, last week. Henry Rutledge died Thursday night, aged 58 years and seven months, of toxenia, caused by intestinal obstructions. Besides a widow he leaves five children. The funeral was Saturday, conducted by Rev. E. W. Thomas and the burial was at Mt. Pleasant church. Warren Tharp, 48 years old, died, Friday evening of chronic nephritis and diseased appendix, after a long illness. He left a widow and three children. Rev. Thomas conducted the funeral and the burial was at Brownsburg. Both these men were prosperous farmers, who, by hard work and frugality, had accumulated a competency. They were right in the prime of life when it would seem that they were entitled to live and enjoy the fruits of their labors. Both these men were good citizens, friends and neighbors, and their untimely end will be mourned by the community in sympathy with the sorrowing families of the deceased.
