Esta J. Schockency Thorpe, 93, Indianapolis, died July 5. She was a schoolteacher several years for the Brownsburg school system, retiring in 1954. She was a member of Speedway Christian Church. Services: 10 a.m. July 8 in Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel, with calling 2 to 6 p.m. July 7. Burial: Lincoln Memory Gardens. She was the widow of Leon Thorpe. Survivors: four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
