BELLEVILLE NATIVE J.W. WESTERFIELD DIES AT BROWNSBURG
Funeral services for J.W. Westerfield, age 60, native of Belleville and former principal of Pittsboro schools, who died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Courtney in Brownsburg on January 30, were held at the Brownsburg Christian Church on Thursday afternoon, February 1, conducted by Elder Peter F. Watkins. Mr. Westerfield had been in failing health for several years. He was principal of the Pittsboro schools from 1915 to 1917 and had taught elsewhere in the county and state. Surviving are the widow, one son and a daughter living in Indianapolis, a daughter in California, and eight brothers and sisters.
