Obituary for Albert Leon Wing

Albert Leon Wing, 81, died at his Diamond Point home east of Payson on April 9, 1997.

Mr. Wing had been a Payson area resident since moving from Tempe in 1974.

He perhaps was best known in Payson for his restoration of 15 Model A Fords. His collection of 1930 Model As appeared in Payson rodeo parades for years and at other events.

Mr. Wing also operated Wing Sales and Distributors, which sold woodworking tools he had invented and patented. He held several U. S. patents beginning in 1965. His quick-set router guide for wood cabinets and furniture was sold throughout the nation and in Mexico, Canada and England.

Survivors include his wife, Dora; three daughters, Darlene Alvarez of Payson, Janet Arnold of Yuma, Madalene Price of Lizton, Ind.; a son, Thomas L. Wing of Taylor; a brother, Oren Wing, of Lebanon, Ind.; a sister, Maude Harrod, of Brownsburg, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 60 years, Helen.

A graveside service was held at Mountain Meadows Cemetery on April 12.
