WHITE PLAGUE
Strikes Down Young Man Who Had Just Attained His Majority

Georgie Wing, as we have been pleased to know and hear him spoken of by friends for many years, succumbed to the ravishes of tuberculosis at the home of his parents, George Wing and wife, five miles north-west of Brownsburg, on Sunday, December 24, 1911. The disease was in no wise hereditary, as no other of the family have shown the least symptom, but it had been contracted by Georgie from a germ which had been taken up by his system at some time when he was too weak to throw it off. George was an exemplary young man and his character was above reproach. He had many warm friends in his circle who mourn to give him up in this early stage of life. His sickness lasted nearly two years from the first notice of the dread disease. At the time of death he was resigned to fate and expressed no fear of death and the meeting of his savior. The funeral services were conducted at the parents’ home on Wednesday following death, after which all that was mortal of Georgie were brought to Brownsburg and interred in Green Lawn Cemetery. The heartbroken parents, sisters, brothers and friends have a heart’s sympathy from neighbors and citizens of the community in which they live in their dark hour of sorrow.
